We speak clearly, keep deadlines and have the difficult conversations early. Long client relationships are our most important quality signal.
HPM Consult is an owner-managed commercial-kitchen and foodservice consultancy — German precision, Swiss roots, and 500+ projects delivered across Europe.
From the founder's Swiss roots to the second generation — over four decades of commercial kitchen planning with conviction.
Born in Zurich, raised in Swiss hospitality: a chef's apprenticeship in star gastronomy, hotel school in Lausanne. International roles as a hotel director — including for Hilton International in Europe and North and South America — and management studies at Cornell University and Harvard (MBA).
After five years leading the planning and consulting division of Jacques Borel Deutschland AG, he founds his own practice — with the ambition to develop exactly the right kitchen for every client. Precision, reliability and genuine hospitality at the heart of the work from day one.
Large clinic and staff kitchens take shape early on — from the central kitchen of Schleswig regional hospital to the Giessen university hospital — laying the foundation for large-scale catering.
HPM Consult establishes itself across Europe — for a time in close cooperation with a Paris partner office — and is active as an advisor in the international FCSI professional association.
The University of Augsburg canteen, refurbished by HPM Consult, is voted “Kitchen of the Year 2013” by the trade press.
The second generation comes on board: André Mühlethaler joins the family business, combining his father's values with a modern, international planning approach.
Hans Peter Mühlethaler passes away. André Mühlethaler takes over management and leads HPM Consult together with Linda Mühlethaler as a family business.
More than four decades after its founding, HPM Consult has delivered over 500 projects in most countries across Europe — from hospital kitchens to five-star hotels.
HPM Consult is run today in its second generation as a family business — by André and Linda Mühlethaler.
André Mühlethaler joined the family business in 2016 after his studies and took over its management in 2020. He combines his father's values — precision, hospitality, reliability — with a modern, international planning approach.
Together with his mother Linda Mühlethaler, owner and co-shareholder, he safeguards the continuity of the family business. His ambition: to find, for every client, the best solution that truly fits the building, the operation and the people — from the first idea right into live operation.
“We create spaces where enjoyment happens.” — André Mühlethaler
Values aren't slogans. They show in how we plan, advise and coordinate — and in how we handle difficulties.
We speak clearly, keep deadlines and have the difficult conversations early. Long client relationships are our most important quality signal.
Precise planning, clean documentation, technically sound recommendations — especially in the level of detail that later decides operation.
New servery, energy and workflow concepts, automation and digital planning with BIM — innovation as a tool, never an end in itself.
